Thomas Sidney was the son of Thomas Sidney, Sr. and Rebecca Moore (Lewis) Bingham.

At the age of 16, he enlisted in the CSA on Jan 24, 1864 and was with Co. I, 8th Mississippi Cavalry, also known as Duff's Regiment and the 19th Battalion, Mississippi Cavalry.

He married Victoria T. Britt May 1, 1869 in Navaro Co., TX. They were charter members of the Taylor's Chapel Methodist Church in Comanche County.

He and Victoria were the parents of 10 children: Mahaley Victoria McClendon, Jonathan Douglas, Thomas Nathan, Henry Jasper, Mike H., Mary Lou "Candy" Coker, M.T., Beatrice Lee Brown, Dovia D. Black, and Stetson Travis.
