When she was still very young, the family moved to Waterman for a time before spending her younger years living on what was known as the Klein Estate in Maple Park. As the family grew, they moved to Maple Park in 1946. In 1953, both Chester and Maxine built the buildings and their new family business, Dueringer Service, where Chester continued to hone his skills as a mechanic until his retirement 1968.
