Last rites for Mrs. Sarah Jane Gash, who died in Bloomington at the home of her son, were held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Methodist church in Clinton. Mrs. Wenona Ellington officiated and interment was made in Woodlawn cemetery.
Deceased was born in Salem, Ill, Marion county, April 9, 1853, and on Nov 10, 1869, she was married to Thomas Gash. Ten children were born to them, four of whom survive, Warner of Bloomington, Eunice and Eugene, Peoria, and Orrin of Clinton.
There are also two surviving sisters, Mrs. Mary Chaffin of Sandoval and Mrs. James Spencer of Clinton. (Decatur Review, Decatur, IL, March 16, 1928)
