He was funny, he was fun, he was considerate and constant and always required the best of us in everything we did.

I thought of you again today. Nothing new, because I don't miss a day of thinking about something we did together or something you said that made us laugh or you taught us something about life.

I want to thank you again for helping me to earn my first guitar. That guitar & that first camera really changed my life, or defined my life. You taught me to be a good man and to take care of the name you gave me, because my name belongs to you, grandpa, greatgrandpa, my sons, etc. We share a proud name. I've met people who instantly trusted me, because they respected you. Thanks for meeting my Mom and liking her enought to marry her. Thanks for your service to our country, but sorry it changed you. Wars are futlie anyway. Thanks for wanting children and teaching me so many different skills. Nobody believes you only had a 4th grade education, because your real education was self taught & hard knocks. The President gave you an award for putting the first men on the Moon, and to me that makes you a minor hero. You're a major hero, becuase you played catch with us and took us fishing and took us to Sunday School and you sang to us. I've tried so hard to be like you. Happy Father's Day - 2008 !

I just wanted to visit you on your birthday and remind you of the silly cakes my brother & I made for you. Decorated with our treasure of Trick or Treat goodies. I'll get our gloves & let's play catch !

All of us miss you, especially those who never met you. You always did your best and usually that was far above average !

I think this is a place you'd like to sit & talk. Of course you'd have to be close enough to the water to "drop our lines" while talking. I remember this morning, watching a squirrel run across a telephone line. Back & forth he'd run while your breathing ceased. I miss you & your wisdom.
