Aurora, Ind., March 27 -- Edmond Jameson, age 94, the last Civil war veteran in Dearborn county, died here Wednesday at the home of his son, Everett Jameson. He was born February 6, 1848, on a Franklin county farm.
He enlisted in the northern forces when only seventeen years of age at Danville, Ill.
After his military service he returned to Cole county, Illinois, and worked with his father. Then he became a blacksmith. He had a shop in Greensburg for thirty years and came here about 20 years ago.
Two of his grandsons, Clarence and Harold Jameson, are now serving in the United States army and navy.
Military services will be conducted by Keith Ross Post, American Legion, here Friday. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery.
Also surviving are three other sons, William, of Brazil, and Harry and Louis, Aurora; fifteen grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
His shop here was on North Michigan avenue. His wife who died many years ago was Mary A. Jameson. They were married July 7, 1870.
