Amerigo or Marty was the son of Joseph Battaglia & Amelia Coloretti Battaglia. In May 1941 Marty enlisted in the US Army. He was a veteran of World War II. He married Sallie Williams (1924-2004) in 1945. He had worked in school bus maintenance for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to his retirement. Upon retiring he and Sallie moved to Wadesboro, where Sallie had previously lived and worked. He and Sallie are survived by his their sons, Alvin Battaglia of Ohio and Roger Battaglia of Michigan; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
