Mrs. Launa Everett, 70, widow of Joseph Everett, died Tuesday at Chickasawaba Hospital in Blytheville.
She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.
Born in Piggott, AR, Mrs. Everett had been a resident of Blytheville since 1942.
Services arranged by Cobb Funeral Home will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church. The Rev. Tom Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. She will be buried next to her husband and son.
She is survived by two sons, Clifford Eugene Everett of Albuquerque, NM, and John William Everett of San Francisco, CA; three daughters, Mrs. Inez Braddy and Mrs. Mary Justine Jones, both of Huntsville, AL, and Mrs. Virginia Austin Scott of Bossier City, LA; two sisters, Mrs. Huleth House and Mrs. Freda Powell, both of Blytheville; 23 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Everett, Sr.; sons, Infant - Joseph Everett, Lawrence Lindall (Larry) Everett, and Joseph Marlin (Junior) Everett.
She was the daughter of John William Baty and Mary Ann (Hall) Baty.
Launa Baty and Joe Everett were married Oct 18, 1920, Piggott, Clay Co, AR.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1942, leaving her a widow at age 38 with six children to raise.
