She was born June 1, 1937 in Purdy, Missouri, the daughter of Robert "Bob" and Gladys (Long) Sexton, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Roberta Sexton, Avanell Lamp and Edna Akin and one brother, Bobby Sexton.
She is survived by one brother, George "Dickey" Sexton and his wife, Bobbie of Duarte, California; five sisters, Evelyn Akin of Leavenworth, Kansas, Christine Eden of Monett, Missouri, Vivian Peterson of Grandview, Missouri, Norma "Tommie" Highbarger and her husband, Bill of Towanda, Kansas and Thelma Greer and her husband, Don of Fairview, Missouri; a host of nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Marjorie graduated from Purdy High School. She worked several years as a sales clerk for the Wooten Drug Store and then Taggart Medicine Shop. She was employed nineteen years at the Able 2 Products Company in Cassville. Marjorie enjoyed walking and going to Roaring River Park. She did many Cancer Fund Raising Walks and was a proud cancer survivor. She also enjoyed cross stitch embroidery work, traveling and her thimble collection. Marjorie was a Sunday School Teacher for thirty years and a member of the Mill Street Church of Christ. She loved her church and all the little children.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 24, 2007, in Mill Street Church of Christ, Cassville, Missouri under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Wayne Deffenbaugh will conduct the services. Burial will be in Goodnight Cemetery, Purdy, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
