He was an Australian-born American motion picture actor, who appeared in at least 350 Hollywood roles from the silent film era of 1919 to 1966, mostly in small, an uncredited role or a credited role of a nameless character, such as a bartender. Due to his tall, strong appearance, often played officers or henchmen, yet perhaps best-known as Mr. Potter's silent wheel-chair-pushing valet in the 1946 classic film "It's A Wonderful Life." He had at least 70 television roles.
