Son of David Amick and Hannah May Robinson, he served in two enlistments, all in fifty-two months, in the Civil War. From April 26, 1861 to May 26, 1864, he was in Co. F, 8th Regiment Reserve Pa. Vol. Infantry. He was also a prisoner for forty days at Castle Thunder and Libby.
