Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) 1-11-1998 VELMA BOSWELL BARBER, 85, of Memphis, homemaker, died of emphysema Saturday at Methodist Hospital Germantown. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Elisabeth Episcopal Church with burial in Memorial Park. Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge. Mrs. Barber, the widow of Elmo Barber, leaves a daughter, Jean Harvell of Memphis; a son, Malcolm Barber of Wichita Falls, Texas; two sisters, Frances Cella of Munford, Tenn., and her twin, Thelma Garey of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a brother, Chesley Boswell of Memphis, four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Elisabeth's Episcopal Church or the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
