His name is Martin Fritz, and he was 42 when he enlisted into Company C, 18th New York Infantry on August 16, 1862, at Albany, N. Y. He was hospitalized on March 15, 1862, and died of heart disease on December 18, 1862, in camp near White Oak Church, VA. He was originally buried in Bray's farm in Stafford County, VA, before his eventual removal to its current location in Fredericksburg National Cemetery.
