Andrew Flowers Barnett, Sr., 73, of Buxton, died Thursday, August 29 [1978], in a Portsmouth, Va. hospital.
He was a native of Frisco and the husband of the late Mrs. Nellie Davies Dailey Barnett. He was retired from the Coast Guard after 17 years and also from Civil Service. He was a member of Buxton United Methodist Church, Woodmen of the World and Cape Hatteras Masonic Lodge #698.
Survivors include two sons: Andrew F. Barnett, Jr. of Virginia Beach and Sigma Halstead Barnett of Chesapeake, Va.; 5 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sept. 2 in New Hollywood Cemetery in Elizabeth City.
