Glen Gerald Allen, 72, 309 6th St. NW, Adams, Minn., was born Oct. 11, 1917 at Webb, Iowa to A.C. and Ida Mae (Phillips) Allen. He resided near West Bend, Iowa, until he was 25 then moved into West Bend. In 1946 he lived on a farm south of Adams until he retired to his present home in Adams in 1976.

Mr. Allen attended grade school, and one year courses, Ames.

On June 25, 1941 he married Evelyn Marie Brooks at Bradgate, Iowa.

He had been employed in feed distribution for Davenport Elevator, West Bend, Iowa, in the postal service, and in farming.

Glen was a member of Little Cedar Lutheran Church where he served his Savior. At one time he was a member of American Legion, Masonic Lodge, and Soil Conservation Corp of Mower County. He served in Antiaircraft Service of Armed Forces, Batt. 455 from 1942-1945.

Mr. Allen died at 10:10 p.m., Jan. 25, 1990 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Jan. 29 at Little Cedar Church with Pastor Al Gunderson officiating. Soloist was Pastor Donna Joseph and organist was Margie Meier. Interment was in Little Cedar Cemetery. Adams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Jim Osmundson, Kenneth Williams, Tracy Anderson, Jeffrey Allen, Christopher Allen, Sheldon Heimer, and Pat Staples.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn, Adams; sons, James Allen, Esconbido, Calif., Terry Allen, Santa Barbara, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Jerry Anderson, Byron, Minn.; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Dale Allen, Modesta, Calif.; Steve Allen, Lebanon, Ore., Larry Allen, Curelew, Iowa; sisters, Florence Hatfield, Des Moines, Iowa, and Oma Montag, Indianola, Iowa; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Opal; and five brothers, Ben, Phil, Leonard, Dewayne, Leslie, and Maynard.

Glen was a good neighbor and friend and a kind and loving husband and father and grandfather.
