MUNFORDVILLE - Melvin Bryant, 87, of Bonnieville died at 6 a.m. Nov. 29, 2006, at his daughter's residence.
The Bonnieville native was a retired sawmill operator, a member of Concord Baptist Church and an Army veteran. He was the son of the late Claude Thomas Bryant and Myrtle Gibson Bryant and the husband of the late Lena Bryant Smith. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Browning.
Funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday at Brooks Funeral Home, with burial in Concord Cemetery. Visitation is in progress until 8 p.m. today and begins at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include a daughter, Fonda Smith of Munfordville; a son, Fairley Bryant and his wife, Kay, of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Thelma Waldeck, Lola Bryant and Coquise Reynolds, all of Bonnieville; two brothers, Hillard Bryant of Horse Cave and Russell Bryant of Boston, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
