Clifford Ennis, 93, of 615 North 4th Avenue, Marshalltown, died early Friday morning, March 11th, at the Villa del Sol in Marshalltown while in care of the Iowa River Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from noon until service time on Tuesday. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa River Hospice. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Clifford and his family. Born on September 29th, 1911, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Earl and Neola (Walkup) Ennis. He received his education in the area of his birth and graduated from the Marshalltown High School's Class of 1930. On June 1st, 1931, he was united in marriage to Lois Ethel Wilson in Charles City, Iowa. She preceded him in death and he was later married to Leona Donaldson on October 5th, 1983 in Moore, Oklahoma. Clifford was employed at Lennox, Montgomery Ward, Best Hardware and the Marshalltown School District for 23 years. Surviving are his wife Leona, daughters Jacqueline (Bud) Schooley of Marshalltown and Joan (Bob) Wilson of Columbia, MO., four step-daughters: Pat (Ken) Sorenson of Mesa, AZ., Barbara (Bart) Liston of Albion, Joan (Jim) Tough of rural Marshalltown and Judy Vokoun of St. Anthony, four grandchildren and 9 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law Betty (Bob) Dunham of Marshalltown and Grace Wilson of Waterloo. Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers Leonard and Walter Richard Ennis, sister Margaret Bartlett, great-grandson Chad and his first wife, Lois Ethel.
