Dr. Arthur Adams Dies at Age of 86

Dr. Arthur Victor Adams, 86, of Harrison, a native of Marion County, died last Friday at Harrison. He was a retired general practitioner and a former county health officer for many years at Yellville.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Yellville Church of Christ by Bro. Reggie Nalls of Harrison and Bro. John Lyons, minister of the Yellville church.

Interment was in the Yellville Cemetery, under the direction of the Holt-Burns Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Frank Burns, E. B. Adams, Donald J. Adams, Hal Johnson, J. Hammond James and Olaf Pyle.

Dr. Adams was born in Marion County on May 28, 1882, the son of John Q. and Nancy Emaline Keeter Adams. A graduate of Hendrix College at Conway and the University of Arkansas Medical School at Fayetteville, he practiced medicine at Oakland, Bruno, Yellville, Mull and Eros. He also serve as physician, under government contract, with the Federal Indian Service in New Mexico and South Dakota. Upon his retirement 12 years ago, he made his home in Harrison.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cleo Adams, of the home; two brothers, Walter B. Adams of Carthage, Mo., and Elmer Adams of Harrison; and two sisters, Mrs. H. A. Burns and Mrs. Ora Willingham, both of Yellville.
