Lee Scheumaker Brown, son of Benjamin and Anna Brown, was born in Washington county, Iowa, February 12, 1866, and died November 12, 1933, aged 67 years, nine months.
He was united in marriage to Mary Emma Jennings December 18, 1889. They lived in Washington county, Iowa, after their marriage except for one year which they spent in Kansas. They moved to Ringgold county in 1902, where they have made their home on the farm east of Tingley. He leaves to mourn his loss a loving wife and ten children, who came to bless their home - Chares W. of Avon, Ill., Pearl B. Sherwood, Vernon E. and Earl E. of Wood, S.D.; Vera L. Goldner of Mount Ayr; Walter L. and Gladys M. Moore, of Beaconsfield; Ila F. Martin, of Tingley; and Howard W. and Lawrence at home. There is also one brother, Charles; two sisters, Mrs. Will Cochran of Coppack, and Mrs. A. E. Mulhern of Crawfordsville; two half brothers, Will and George; one half sister, Clara Bolleau; and 18 grandchildren.
He was a devoted father, a loving husband and a lover of his grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon and interment made in the Tingley cemetery.
