Helen (Oliver) Dear (Aunt Tootie) was born on Feb. 10, 1910 in Kentwood, La. Her Grandfather Samuel having been from Plant City, Fla. Her Grandmother was Sara Jane Odum. Her Mom was Katherine Cutrer from Osyka, Ms. Helenmarried Harry Dear. She passed away in Baton Rouge in Dec. of 2003. She was a beloved retired school teacher. She graduated from MississippiState Teachers College in Hattiesburg. She taught in Carriere Consolidated Schools near Picayune, Ferriday and Crescent Elementary. Her cooking and love for her neighbors was legendary. Her Brother was Bill Oliver and Sis Myrtis Horn. Harry and Helen had no children, but loved their nieces, nephew and neighbors greatly.

Aunt Tootie @ we called you. You were such a delight to our family. Our trips to Plaquemine, we will NEVER forget. You were so kind to your brother Bill Oliver. Your Kindness remained to his children, of which my Jeannie is one.You surely made a name for yourself as a faithful school teacher and your husband Uncle Harry @The locks.
