Deceased Name: BRANS, PATRICIA MARIE P
BRANS, PATRICIA MARIE , Patricia Marie Brans passed away October 28, 2006 at her home after a long term battle with cancer. She was born August 8, 1932 in Dallas where she lived her entire life. She grew up in Preston Hollow and was a student at the original Hockaday School on Greenville Ave. She also attended Western University in Ohio. She was an extensive traveler and enjoyed meeting and helping people. She was very artistic and creative as expressed through her designs in her jewelry company. She was one of the first Dallas Debutantes in the 1940's. She was also a long standing and well respected member of the local chapter of Society for Creative Anachronism. A national organization dedicated to research and recreating the Middle Ages, holding there in the following awards, A O A, O S C, O S T, O T S and the O O. Her parents, Alta Marie and Osro Sam Cummings, both deceased, were actively involved in many Dallas events and clubs. He served as the Kiwanis Clubs President from 1928 - 1929 and also owned the Kansas City Life Agency in Dallas. Patricia is survived by her half- brother, Laird Cummings; close friend & companion W. Russell Smith; daughter Helen Nelms; son Gordon Brans and five grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 4, 2006 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy. Dallas, TX 75225.
