Spring is in the Air. Dear Lady, I feel that I know you. I watched the 'Little House on the Prairie series' in the late 70's to early 80's. I have now just watched them all again over the past few months. On every day here. You inspired a wonderful series. If your true family were close to the actors, then you really did have the most wonderful family. It must have been a very hard time to grow up in your era, and how sad it makes me feel, how today we take our lifestyles for granted. You took such pleasures in small things, i.e, a scarf for a Christmas Present or a drinking Mug. Simple pleasures and family was first priority. Sadly we have all lost something over the years. Living in a Material world isn't that great. God Bless you and your family. -Anonymous Added: Mar. 31, 2013 |

Your books demonstrate for us all the importance of family, history, the beauty of nature, courage under adversity, self-reliance, and gratitude for all of life's blessings. Your writings have had such a special and important impact on my life, both in childhood and as an adult. Some of my fondest memories from my youth were reading your books, and I still receive much pleasure in revisiting them. Thank you for sharing your life and memories with us all. You live on in so many hearts. -

HI LAURA. I AM SO SORRY I MISSED YOUR BIRTHDAY AND ANGEL DAY.I HAD IN MIND TO VISIT, BUT THINGS GOT KINDA BUSY FOR ME.I WAS INTRODUCED TO YOUR BOOKS BACK IN THE 1950'S. I LIVED IN THE MTNS. OF NORTH CAROLINA, AND AT THAT TIME A VAN WITH BOOKS TO LEND, CAME BY TWICE A MONTH. YOU CAN BET I WAS THERE TO GET THE NEXT ISSUE OF LAURA'S BOOKS. MY MOM READ THEM TO US, BY LAMPLIGHT, JUST LIKE YOUR MOM DID. THEY ARE ONE OF MY HAPPIEST CHILDHOOD MEMORIES.AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I STILL READ THEM.EVERY WINTER I READ THE LONG WINTER, LITTLE TOWN ON THE PRAIRIE AND THESE HAPPY GOLDEN YEARS.I HAVE THE 1953 EDITION'S, AND YOU COULD PROBABLY IMAGINE WHAT A STATE OF DISREPAIR THEY ARE IN.I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO LIVE DURING THAT PERIOD, WHEN YOU WERE PLAYING ON THE BANKS OF PLUM CREEK, AND RIDING IN THE COVERED WAGON TO OTHER PLACES, WHERE PA AND MA WANTED TO MAKE THEIR HOME. I'M JUST SORRY THERE WEREN'T MORE BOOKS ABOUT YOUR LIFE. I COULD READ THEM AS LONG AS I LIVE.THANK YOU DEAR LADY, AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER ROSE WHO ENCOURAGED YOU TO WRITE THE STORY OF YOUR LIFE. REST IN PEACE DEAR LADY.MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT TO MY FAVORITE AUTHOR. Added: Feb. 15, 2013 |
