They would call you an unfortunate example of "collateral damage" in an act of violence. The attack on your father, Secretary of State William Seward, killed you by shock, and shortened your mother's life too. In fact, the Secretary's life was shortened too (he died in 1872). With all the wounded he left behind (your two brothers, the Secretary, and the attending Sergeant, Powell might have considered he did do a good job at damaging everything.
