Edward was one of a family of five born to Anton and Mary (Shipek) Lesovsky who were farming in Republic County, Kansas. On May 6, 1914, he married Matilda Huncovsky and to this union were born two daughters, Virginia Mary and Winifred Grace. Edward contracted the flu and died during the great flu epidemic of 1918.

He was survived by his wife and two daughters, by his parents, one sister, and three brothers.

Edward was farming in Jefferson Township, Republic County, Kansas at the time of his death.
