4 Jan. 1922: Mrs. Christian Batdorf, one of the oldest and best known residents of the northern part of the county died on New Year's Day at her residence at East Lickdale. Her death was due to old age, as she was 85 years old. She was a faithful member of the Union Salem church at East Lickdale for many years, and the funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon. She leaves a son, Barnabas Batdorf, the Lickdale school teacher, and two daughters, Mrs. Darkes, at home, and Mrs. George Schamber of Lickdale. [Lebanon Daily News]
