Master Sgt. Robb G. Needham of Vancouver, Washington moved with his family in 1967 from New Jersey to California where he graduated from Castro Valley High. He later joined the Army as an active-duty soldier, who continued to serve in the Army Reserve. Master Sgt. Needham was in his 25th year in the Army and on his third tour of duty to Iraq. He was the husband of Catherine "Cait" Needham of Vancouver. She teaches high-school courses at the New Generation Christian School, which is affiliated with Living Hope Church at 10702 N.E. 117th Ave. The Needhams have two grown children, Dylan and Robi, and two grandchildren. He could have retired but he chose to go back to Iraq. He didn't care about opinions. He just wanted to serve and defend freedom. He was 51.
