My maternal grandfather, James Albert Kinser was pastor in Baptist and Methodist churches, and a rancher in Briggs and Florence, Williamson county Texas. Also worked at the Buchanan Dam between 1937-39, The KINSER RESEARCHERS HAVE TRACED OUR Families back to their arrival in this country in the 1700s. They mostly arrived in Pennsylvania, migrated into Virginia, and then into Tennessee. My family have been farmers and ranchers. It is interesting to point out that in his family at the funeral there were 2 dentists, 1 PHD scientist 1 lawyer and 1 Vietnam vet all grandchildren serving as pall bearers. He took great pride in education and studied for 2 years at Hardin-Simmons Univ. in Abilene,Texas before continuing his ministry which began around 1905 in Johnson Co., Texas.
JAMES ALBERT AND MY MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER. DONA MOORE KINSER WERE MARRIED IN JOHNSON CO., TEXAS ON AUG. 24, 1905. THEY HAD 5 CHILDREN, 4 DAUGHTERS INCLUDING MY MOTHER, MARIE KINSER/ HUMPHREY, AND SON ALBERT FOSTER KINSER.
CAUSE OF DEATH WAS CANCER.From his grandson, Ed Conley in 2014. glen or his friend had a new Oldsmobile with cruise control...the first I had ever seen.
We....Glen mother , maybe Evelyn all went to see PaPa ..he was in a nursing home. I do not remember but he had cancer. The only thing that would help him was blood. The doc drew my blood, did something to it and transfused him as we watched. I remember the doctor telling him..."Now Jimmy, this will be your last blood as it really does no long term good and the boys in Vietnam need all the blood we can spare. " Pa Pa was o.k with that.
Died at Oaks Nursing Home in Bertham, Texas.
Cause of death was metastatic prostate cancer.
