Judge J. L. House of Gunters Valley, presiding Judge of the county court of Howell County, received word that his sister, Mrs. J. C. Monger, had died at her home in Tulsa, Okla., Monday. She was a former resident of this county.
Mrs. Monger came to this county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. House, in 1881, from Weakly County, Tennessee, the family residing for a number of years on Spring Creek. After her marriage she moved to Altus, Oklahoma, and later the family came back to this county for a time. For the past number of years, since Mr. Monger's retirement from active farm life, they have resided in Tulsa. Mrs. Monger, who was 73 years old at the time of her death, is survived by her husband and five sons. The sons are Ira Monger, of California, Arthur and Floyd Monger of Pawhuska, Okla., Melvin Monger of Tulsa, Okla., and Milo Monger of Ponca City, Okla. She is also survived by five brothers and two sisters, Judge J. L. House of Gunters Valley, northeast of West Plains, Alvis and Matt House of the Siloam Springs route; William and Jim House of Joplin; Mrs. Flora Rothwell of Osborn. Kansas, and Miss Laura House of Ponca City, Okla.
The body was brought to West Plains Wednesday morning, and funeral services are being held at Dripping Springs Church this afternoon, with burial to be In Dripping Springs Cemetery.
