NEWS OF DEATH
Aurora, Neb., Feb 16 (Special) -- A message reached her son, Eston J. Jones of Aurora, Neb., Monday morning, telling of the death of Mrs. Jennie V. Jones at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Stella Hughes in Long Beach, Calif., at the age of 91 years, after an illness of two months.
Mrs. Jones and her husband, the late John Jones, were homesteaders in Hamilton County, coming here (Nebraska) in 1875 from Indiana and settling along the Platte River southwest of Marquette. Here they resided until 1915 when they retired and moved to Long Beach. Mr. Jones died there in April, 1917. Mr. Jones as a native of England was a veteran of the Civil War.
Mrs. Jones was the last one of her immediate family, is survived by two sons and three daughters, E.J. Jones of Aurora, Edgar Jones and Mrs. James Lamont of Ontario, Calif., Mrs. R.K. Hughes of Long Beach, and Mrs. F.S. Moore of Chino, Calif.
Mr.. and Mrs. E. J. Jones departed Monday noon for Long Beach to attend funeral services which will probably be held on Thursday.
