Vera Naomi Blomquist, 95, of Stuart died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Vera was born on July 25, 1911 in Chamberlain, S.D., the daughter of Alfred and Clara Scott Lee. She graduated from Stuart High School in 1930 and became a lifelong farm wife and homemaker. She married Justin Blomquist on March 11, 1932 in Dexter. After farming south of Dexter for 47 years Vera and Justin retired to their home in Stuart.

Vera was a member of the Dexter United Methodist Church, the DT Club of Dexter, the Dexter Golden Agers, and the Methodist Women's Society. She became interested in genealogy in the past few years and began tracing her family tree. Vera loved to play dominos with the ladies at club.

Vera was preceded in death by her husband Justin; sister Pearl Albery and brothers Thomas and Charles Lee.

Vera is survived by her daughter, Sandra Rogers of Dexter; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
