Edna Ruth Buzza was born November 11, 1893 in Butler, Butler County, Pennsylvania, to William J. and Anna C. (Smith) Buzza. The family moved to Ohio when Edna was a young girl. She attended school in Fostoria, Hancock County, Ohio.

She married Charles Wilmer "Bill" Garlick on December 1, 1919, at Sapulpa, Creek County, Oklahoma. They had a daughter, Marjorie. Edna had a previous marriage and a son, William Ferguson, was born of that union.

Edna's husband, Bill, worked in the Oklahoma oil fields before serving in World War I (1914-1918). After the war, he moved to Preston, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma. By 1939, Bill and Edna had moved to Angola, Labette County, Kansas, where he was foreman of the Jensen Ranch, retiring from this job in 1955. After his retirement, they moved to Coffeyville, Montgomery County, Kansas.

Funeral services were held in the Ford Funeral Service Edgewood Chapel, Coffeyville, Kansas, with burial in Coffeyville at the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
