Charles M. "Charlie" Smith, Jr., 65, of Red Bluff, died at Eastern Plumas District Hospital.
He was born to Charles Sr. and Agnus Smith and moved to Tehama County in 1959 from Ukiah. On November 25, 1961, he married his high school sweetheart, Jill Melinda Williams in Reno, Nevada.
Charlie was a forman for Pacific Gas and Electric Company in Cottonwood, a member of the Wilcox Oaks Golf Course and was just awarded his Life membership in the Red Bluff Elks Lodge, and was active in community sports.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Renee (Bill) Ross and Staci (Abner) McKenzie, both of Red Bluff; father and mother-in-law, former Sheriff Lyle and Mildred Williams of Red Bluff; sister, Vicky Urban of San Francisco; sister-in-law, Sue Williams of Lake California and four grandchildren, Carli Ross, Brynn Ross, Cole McKenzie, and Conner Jess (CJ) McKenzie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held at First Church of God in Red Bluff. The Rev. Mancill Tiss of the church officiating.
