THE PARIS MORNING NEWS, Tuesday, March 25, 1924, p. 3: 'Miss Nellie Landers, fifteen years old, who was the daughter of Mrs. Maud Landers, died after a brief illness at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home of her mothers at 123 Ross avenue. She complained of feeling a little bad before going to bed Friday night, but sat up and read until after 9 o'clock. She became suddenly ill during the night and pneumonia developed at once and hastened her death. Besides her mother she is survived by a sister and two brothers. The funeral service was held at 3:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the residence, Rev. H. E. Morris of Emmanuel Baptist church officiating. She was a student of the Third ward school and several of the school children attended the funeral. Interment was at Evergreen.'
