Services for Specialist Anthony Chad Owens will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Dillon. Burial with full military honors will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and Saturday, Feb. 11, in Cooper Funeral Home.Mr. Owens, 21, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, in Iraq.Born Oct. 5, 1984, in Florence County, he was the son of Ronnie Owens and Susan Williamson Owens. He was a member of Maple Baptist Church in Conway, and was a U.S. Army Veteran of Iraqi Freedom while assigned to 1st Battalion, 502d Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade.Survivors include his parents of Aynor; brother, Shane Owens of Germany; sister, Veronica Owens of Aynor; maternal grandmother, Betty Williamson of Dillon; paternal grandmother, Earline Owens of Dillon; aunts, JoAnn Owens and Betty Ann Sweatt, both of Dillon, Teresa Cannon and Holly Carroll, both of Conway; uncles, Ray Williamson of Dillon and Billy Owens of Knoxville, Tenn.; and numerous cousins.Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thurman Williamson.
