Inventor. He was the General Manager of the New Departure Manufacturing Company, Bristol, Connecticut, when he went to Europe to evaluate their taxi systems, hoping to develop a similar one in Washington, D.C. By March 1910, his new Rockwell cabs with coin meter devices he developed to register fares, were being sent to several major cities including New York. In 1912, he incorporated with the Yellow Taxicab Company forming the largest carry and fare corporation.
