Amelia Harwig Kamler was born in Germany May 14, 1853. She died June 16, 1938 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nick Weber. In 1882 she was united in marriage to Herman Kamler. A few years later, leaving their parents and other relatives and friends, they immigrated to America. They settled in Fillmore County, Nebraska and lived the life of early pioneer farmers.

To this union were born one daughter and five sons, Mrs. (Hattie)Nick Weber, Henry, Herman, Joe, William and Frank, all of Fillmore county. Surviving are her six children, twenty-three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Her husband preceeded her in death, July 18, 1936.

The wonderful patience she posessed in her work through life showed marvelous endurance throughout her last illness. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at Turkey Creek Catholic Church and were conducted by Rev. Paul Ulenberg. Interment was in Turkey Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers were her six nephews, Emil, Frank, Henry, John, Charley, and Herman Reinsch. Those attending from a distance were Fred, John and Carl Jaschke of Neligh and Mr. and Mrs. William Schroller, Frank Schroller Sr., and Rudolph Schroller, all of Marysville, Kansas.
