Mahalia Stallings Archer died at her home in Lowell, AR. Sunday morning Dec. 30th at 5 o'clock. The deceased was born in Indiana Nov 9, 1857 and was at the time of her death 43 years one month and twenty-one days old. Her maiden name was Mahalia Stallings and on February 16, 1873 she was united in marriage to Mr. John Archer and in 1878 they moved to Benton County, Arkansas. Mrs. Archer was a quiet and unassuming lady, devoted to her family, she was industrious and affectionate, ever ready to minister to those in distress. She was a noble Christian woman, loved by all who knew her and her death has shrouded our town in a mantle of gloom and sorrow. She leaves to mourn her loss three children; R.L. Archer, Mrs. Thomas Phillips and Miss Daisy Archer, all of Lowell. funeral services were conducted at her home Sunday after which she was buried in the McDaniel graveyard northeast of town.
