Stanley Rudolph Anderson, age 82 of Mankato, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 5, 2007 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Paul Meierding officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Ames Municipal Cemetery in Ames, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Stanley Anderson was born August 20, 1924 to Rudolph and Selma (Stenson) Anderson in Sheldahl, IA. Stanley served his country in the US Army from 1942 – 1944 in the Pacific Theater. He owned and operated Hilltop Hardware in Mankato for many years. Stanley enjoyed woodworking, antique toy collecting, gardening, and his family.

Stanley is survived by his wife Betty Anderson of Mankato; son Donald R. (Sandy) Anderson of San Jose, CA; daughter Charmian (Gary) Folkerts of Urbandale, IA; granddaughter Jennifer (Rick) Lane of Clive, IA; two great-grandchildren: Spencer and Emma Lane; sister Marilyn McCauley of Des Moines, IA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
