Louisa Catherine Adams: Madam First Lady, the main acknowledge about is that you are The only first lady who became from England, thanks for your help with ur husband, John Quincy Adams' presidency, as the First Lady, you became reclusive and depressed. For a time, you regretted ever having married into the Adams family, the men of which you found cold and insensitive. The necessary entertainments were always elegant, however; and your cordial hospitality made the last official reception a gracious occasion although your husband had lost his bid for re-election and partisan feeling still ran high. Your greatest event as hostess as First Lady was in August of 1824 when she entertained the visiting Marquis de Lafayette, who was then completing a grand public tour of the United States. You were the first woman whose death was so acknowledged by the federal government by both the House and the Senate to adjourned in mourn your death. Remembering you on this day after 160 years, may you rest in peace!
