Mr. Robert Wayne "Bobby" Crowl, 61, of Barnwell died Saturday morning, May 30, 2009, in the Providence Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, June 1, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with Rev. Johnnie Bailey, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
Mr. Crowl was born Sept. 7, 1947, in Selma, Ala. He was preceded in death by two loving parents, Eddie Mae and Leonard Crowl; and two brothers, Gilbert Williams and Alvin Crowl. He is survived by three siblings, James (Red) Crowl of Chester, Tutti Carrigg of Cordova and Trixie Cherry of Rowesville; six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his second wife of 18 years, Reba Crowl and his stepson, Lloyd Padgett. He is survived by four grandchildren, Laura Obermann, Rollanda Padgett, Norman Padgett and L. M. Padgett all of Barnwell; 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 18 years Annie Mae Crowl; also a grandson, Jonathan Cupp; granddaughter, Wanda Linly. He is survived by seven children, Loraine Axson of Bamberg, Johnny Cupp of Orangeburg, Tommy Cupp of Bamberg, Marty Carroll of Barnwell, Ben Cupp of Neeses, Debbie Linly of Norway and Reba Canaday of Norway; 13 grandchildren, Tammy Merrick, Brenda Herring, Rhonda Cope, Nancy Jolly, Michael Axson, Mandy Dobb, Robbie Cupp, Sarah Cupp, Rhett Linly, Jessica Canaday, Jr. Canaday, Tonya Cupp, Christy Cupp; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Crowl was employed by Tri-County Pallett Company in Barnwell; known as Palmetto Skid. He had a great love for old cars, and trucks and loved old rock and roll music.
Memorials may be made to Norway Baptist Church Benevolence Fund.
