BEEVILLE -- Roy Alvin Lawrence, age 86 passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2006. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., at the Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Marc Stone and Mr. Robert Moore officiating. Burial was in the Beeville Memorial Park Cemetery. There was a visitation on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Roy was born on July 1, 1919 in Asher, Oklahoma the son of William Henry Lawrence and Willie Brewer Lawrence. He served in the National Guard and the Civilian Conservation Corp. On July 31, 1939 he married Eva Majors Lawrence in Allen, Oklahoma. He was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ where he served as a teacher and elder for many years. He was a retired plant operator for Amoco Plant in Pettus, Texas. He transfered to Beeville in 1949 from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
