Beloved first wife of Jim DeLoach and mother of their three children, she was the daughter of a jewel setter in Los Angeles. They met as teens when they both worked at Yosemite National Park one summer and became friends. They continued their friendship after that summer. Friendship became courtship and they wed when he was in the Marine Corp and had a Marine Corp wedding. After his discharge, Jim accepted an outside sales job in Stockton selling business forms, then later taught math for Stockton Unified School District at Edison High School. They bought a house in Morada where they raised their children and joined Saint Anne's Episcopal Church. Lorene died of cancer.
