Mr. Cartwright was the true inventor of baseball. His rules called for nine men per team, three outs per inning, 90 feet between bases, and three strikes per batter. The first real baseball game in history was played in 1845 under his rules.

True scholars of the game know that Abner Doubleday had nothing to do with baseball. Mr. Cartwright should get the credit that others erroneously give to Doubleday.
