Doris E. Therrien, 77
NORTH FORT MYERS, FL - Doris E. Therrien,77, of Spyglass Court, North Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Putnam, died unexpectedly Monday at the Cape Coral Hospital, FL. She was the beloved wife of Norman Therrien. They were married June 14, 1947 in Sacred Heart Church in Webster, MA. She was born September 2, 1927 in Webster, daughter of the late Hermas and Emma (Landry) Dumouchel.
Doris was employed for 14 years by the State of Connecticut working at the Dempsey Center in Putnam as a Workshop Instructor. She retired in 1984. She had made her home in Putnam for over 40 years, the last 17 years her home was in North Fort Myers. She was a communicant of Saint Therese Catholic Church in North Fort Myers and Saint Mary Church of the Visitation, Putnam. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Doris was an avid golfer with two holes-in-one, a member of the Harrisville Golf Course, where she was Club Champion in 1962, and the Woodstock Golf Course. Doris also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Daughter of Isabella Bowling League.
She will be remembered for her "Competitive Spirit", and as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves in addition to her husand, a son; two daughters; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and Treffle Dumouchel.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 AM from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, with a Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam. Calling hours, Friday 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery, Putnam.
