Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, March 10, 2014, at the Church of the Nazarene in Iowa City, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9am Monday until services at the church. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established to benefit her two children.
Regina was born on November 11, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the loving daughter of the late John and Carol (Price). She received her education in Chicago, graduating from Martin Luther King High School on the south side of Chicago. In 2005, she decided to relocate her family to Iowa City in hopes of a better life and opportunities for her children to succeed in life.
Everyone who knew Regina will always remember her big heart, who loved to entertain and feed her friends and family. She always smiled and loved to laugh, dance and sing. Her upbeat attitude could light up any room she entered.
Regina is survived by her children, Rina, Rahson, Reggie, Ricki and her loving husband, Carl Benson Jr.; siblings, Mona, Kenneth, Glenda, Karen, and Maria Adams of Iowa City; Special nieces and nephews, Jada, Lexi, Tori, Gia and Kevin Jr. ; her unique pet cat "Pookie" who she loved dearly; and special friends, Jason Dawsom, Sue Bryant, Kim, Alice, Neechie Bryant, and Monica.
