"Sprit of Life, mystery of death: We trust that beyond the absence: There is a presence. That beyond the pain: There can be healing. That beyond the brokenness: There can be new kind of wholeness. That beyond the silence: There may be the understanding. And that beyond the understanding: There is love. Blessed Be. Amen"

We need your voice today. The genuine poor are caught in a trap between two groups, the idle rich and the idle benefit scroungers and they are sinking.

I received a book for Christmas where, inevitably, an attempt is made to drag Dickens and his reputation down in the time honoured way.Endless speculation on how he may have treated his wife and children, whether or not he had an affair with someone from the theatre, the relationship between him and his biographer,Foster etc, etc. WHY do people do this! Other than to make a lot of money I can see no logical reason. Even a very personal operation he endured was dragged out and put under the microscope! If someone really wants to know gritty details of this kind it is possible to investigate and find out without publishing your findings for all the world to gloat over, I know, I've done it for a school project, but I didn't then publish said findings in a glossy hardback for all the world to see. Dickens did more than most to alleviate the problems of the poor and the oppressed, he should now be allowed to rest in piece so far as that is possible. Most assuredly it does not mean that he should be diligently 'investigated' and torn to pieces like a common criminal. I wonder someone hasn't tried to hang worse tags on him, the way people work today.-
