Mr. Bailey was born in Elberton, GA Dec. 3, 1934. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 33 years-4 years in active duty and the remainder of his service was in the Georgia Air National Guard as a Master Sergeant. He retired from Sears after 37 years and also worked at Home Depot.
He was an active member of Mountain Park First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, an usher, and a bus driver. He was also a member of Task Force Patriots, a veteran organization.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife of 42 years, Reba; a daughter Beverly Bailey of Decatur, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Michelle Bailey; a granddaughter, Madison Bailey; a grandson, Daniel Bailey of Decatur; and a brother, Edwin Bailey of Placentia, CA.
Funeral services will be held at Ward's Stone Mountain Chapel on Wednesday, Jan 17 at 11am, Reverend Doug Cox and Reverend Jake Butler officiating, with interment at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tues, Jan 16, from 5:30-8pm. Those desiring may make contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or The American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Horis A.
