Heart Attack Is Fatal to Carl Lee Melton
Carl Lee Melton died suddenly at 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at his home on Route 1, Dresden.
Mr Melton, accompanied by a friend, had gone to the field to take care of the evening chores when he suffered the fatal heart attack. He had been in failing health for some time. He was 79.
J. E. Williams, of Humboldt and Billy Ross conducted the services Thursday morning at the Church of Christ. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery with Bowlin Mortuary directing arrangements.
He was preceded by his wife, Mrs. Bessie Parham Melton in 1959.
He leaves one son, Mark Melton, Nashville; three daughters, Mrs. Yvonne Mayo, Mrs. Ruth Buckley, Dresden, and Mrs. Rachel Johnson, Union City; three brothers, Bert and Dave Melton, Dresden, George Melton, Beloit, Wisconsin; one sister, Mrs. Lela Summers, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Pallbearers: James Pritchell, Dean Pritchett, Bill Pritchett, John Hilliard, Harold Melton, and Dan Roney.
