Korean War veteran

Donald E. Sistek, 74, of Springdale died Feb. 11, 2005.

Born in Verona, he was the son of Frank and Loretta (Henneman) Sistek.

He was a retired project manager for Bell Telephone. Mr. Sistek was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member, exalted ruler and treasurer since 1967 at Oakmont Elks Lodge 1668 and member of American Legion Post 600 Verona, VFW Post 92 New Kensington, Krivan Hall Association in Springdale and Verona Eagles.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Betty Jane (Bell) Sistek; daughter, Darla Amato and her husband, Frank, of Penn Hills; and a brother, Frank Sistek.

He also is survived by his two grandchildren, Sonny and Laureen Amato.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters.

Friends were received at Burket-Truby Funeral Home. Mass was at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Harwick, Pa., with the Rev. Albert Zapf officiating.

Interment was at Verona Cemetery.
