Clarice Martin Deaton, age 80, of Buford, Georgia, died suddenly Thursday, October 20, 2005. Funeral Service will be held Sunday, October 23, 2005 at 2:30 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Charles Gilliland and Rev. Hollis Benfield will officiate. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Buford. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 22, 2005 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 3390 Puckett Road, Buford, GA 30519. Mrs. Deaton was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Deaton. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Wanda Deaton, Buford; daughter, Mary Deaton, Athens; grandson and his wife, Ben and Gina Deaton, Duluth; sister, Wessie Hulsey, Gainesville; brother-in-law, John H. Tidwell, Duluth; sister-in-law, Hazel Williams, Buford; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Hayden and Bernice Weaver, Buford, Edgar and Helen Williams, Milledgeville, Danny and Edith Morton, Stone Mountain. Mrs. Deaton was a life long resident of Gwinnett County and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Buford.
