Jessie was the daughter of John T. Robinson (1850-1917) and Clara Adaline Morris (1860-1943).

She married Charles E. Anderson (1894-1920), and together they had three children: Charles, Jr. (b. 1915), Helen Elizabeth (b. 1916) and Barbara (b. 1919).

On 30 Oct 1920, Jessie met with her estranged husband to talk about custody of their three children. She had left him several months earlier due to his jealousy and had gone to her mother's home in Fresno.

At some point during their meeting, Charles shot and killed Jessie, then put the gun to his temple and fired. He died before reaching the hospital.
